Gynecological Examination

A woman’s health journey is a long and sensitive process, extending from adolescence to menopause and beyond. At our practice, we offer comprehensive screening, diagnosis, and treatment for all gynecological concerns across every life stage, using modern technologies and personalized approaches.

Adolescence and Early Adulthood

In young women without a sexual partner, abdominal ultrasound is the foundation of gynecological evaluation. This method easily detects uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which can lead to hormonal imbalances. Severe menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) can also be an early indicator of endometrioma (chocolate cyst), which can be diagnosed at this stage.

Gynecological Assessment in Sexually Active Women

For women with sexual activity, a more comprehensive assessment is planned. The external genital area is visually examined for genital warts (condylomas), masses, ulcerations, redness, or prolapse. A speculum exam follows to assess the vaginal walls and cervix for lesions. If discharge is present, a vaginal culture is taken. Annual Pap smear testing is recommended for every woman, as it plays a critical role in the early detection of cervical cancer.

Mature Age and Approaching Menopause

For women over 40, gynecological evaluation is complemented with breast ultrasound, manual breast exams, and, if needed, mammography. As menopause approaches, bone density (DEXA) and hormone level testing are included in the preventive care plan.

Enhancing Quality of Life During Menopause

Menopause is not just a hormonal shift; it is often accompanied by major social changes in a woman’s life. Children leaving home, retirement, or family health issues may coincide with this phase. Our goal is to support women in remaining active, healthy, and emotionally resilient. Menopause is not a time to withdraw — it’s an opportunity to thrive with the wisdom of experience.

Our Approach to Gynecological Diagnosis and Treatment

Hormonal Evaluation Depending on the patient’s condition, we may request FSH, LH, Estradiol (E2), Prolactin (PRL), and thyroid function tests (TSH, Free T3, Free T4). These guide the diagnosis of menstrual irregularities and menopausal changes.

Management of Gynecological Disorders Findings such as fibroids, polyps, or ovarian cysts identified during a speculum exam are thoroughly evaluated. If surgery is required, we prioritize minimally invasive techniques and collaboratively plan the treatment.

Cervical and Ovarian Cancer Screening In suspicious cases, tumor markers (CA-125, CA 19.9, CA 15.3) are tested. Screening for sexually transmitted infections (HIV, Hepatitis B & C, syphilis, gonorrhea) is performed when indicated. We also assess for genital herpes (HSV-2) and condylomas. In appropriate cases, information and administration of the HPV vaccine are offered.

Modern Gynecological Procedures

Colposcopy

Colposcopy is a detailed method for examining the cervix, vagina, and vulva under magnification. If a suspicious lesion is found, a biopsy can be performed during the same session.

LEEP – LLETZ

A modern procedure used for both the diagnosis and treatment of cellular changes in the cervix.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy involves freezing and eliminating genital warts caused by HPV using liquid nitrogen.

Hysteroscopy

Hysteroscopy uses a lighted telescope to view the inside of the uterus. Office hysteroscopy is performed for diagnostic purposes, while surgical hysteroscopy is used to remove polyps or fibroids, treat intrauterine adhesions (adhesiolysis), or perform septum resection.

Lifelong Commitment to Women’s Health

We adopt a multidisciplinary approach to women’s health throughout life. Our aim is for every woman to understand her body, take control of her health, and improve her quality of life at every stage.
