IVF Treatment

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is one of the most advanced reproductive technologies available in modern medicine. In the standard IVF process, eggs collected after medication are combined in the laboratory with sperm cells. Around 50,000 to 150,000 sperm are placed around each mature egg, and natural fertilization is expected to occur.

This method is commonly used for couples with low chances of natural conception or those diagnosed with unexplained infertility.

Diagnosis and Evaluation Process

Before starting treatment, our clinic conducts a thorough examination and diagnostic testing. A diagnosis of unexplained infertility may be made if the following criteria are met: ovulatory function is normal, fallopian tubes are open, sperm count and motility are sufficient, there is no endometriosis, and no pelvic adhesions are detected. In such cases, alternative treatment options are explored and a personalized roadmap is developed for the couple.

Treatment Approach for Unexplained Infertility

Couples diagnosed with unexplained infertility have a spontaneous pregnancy chance of 40–80% within the first three years. However, this rate declines with age. Time is especially critical for women over 30. Once all evaluations are complete, the most suitable treatment plan is determined jointly with the physician.

Expectant Management (“Wait and See” Approach)

When deciding on treatment, the couple’s age and duration of infertility are taken into consideration. For younger couples, spontaneous conception may be awaited for a set period.

Superovulation and Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

IUI is one of the most commonly used treatments for unexplained infertility. Superovulation involves using medication (such as clomiphene citrate tablets or gonadotropin injections) to stimulate the ovaries and increase egg development. Prepared sperm is then placed into the uterus using a specialized catheter.

IVF with ICSI

ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) involves injecting a single sperm directly into the egg. It is typically used for couples who have not achieved success with simpler treatments. IVF with ICSI is one of the most effective options available.

Paying Attention to Male Infertility

Healthy couples have a roughly 20% chance of conceiving each month. Male factors play a significant role in couples experiencing infertility. Research shows that sperm counts have dropped significantly over the past 30 years, due to environmental toxins, hormone-laden foods, and lifestyle stress.

IMSI Method

IMSI (Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection) uses high-magnification microscopy to select the healthiest sperm with the best morphology and DNA integrity. It is especially useful in cases of sperm deformities, repeated IVF failures, and poor embryo quality.

PGT and PGS Methods

PGT (Preimplantation Genetic Testing) and PGS (Preimplantation Genetic Screening) involve analyzing embryos to select genetically healthy ones. These methods are often used in cases of recurrent miscarriage or when one or both partners carry a genetic condition.

Blastocyst Transfer

A blastocyst is an embryo cultured for 5 days in the lab. Transferring embryos at this stage allows for better selection of high-quality embryos and may improve pregnancy rates.

IVM Method

IVM (In Vitro Maturation) involves retrieving eggs with little or no hormonal stimulation and maturing them in the lab. This method is preferred in patients who respond excessively to stimulation drugs or in cases where mature eggs are not obtained during retrieval.
